This year iconic Japanese Denim label Evisu teamed up with Europe’s oldest official Harley-Davidson dealership Warr’s of London and famous custom designer Charlie Stockwell to create and hand build a one-off classically-inspired Harley-Davidson.

Synonymous with luxurious craftsmanship and one-off design, The Evisu x Warr’s Harley-Davidson Motorbike, aptly named the Kamome Sprinter, showcases a darkened harmonic combination of past vintage styles with modern functionality and celebrates the creativity and hand-made practices for which both brands are famous.

The Evisu Warr’s Harley-Davidson mission statement outlines that every detail crafted has its purpose and function throughout this whole creative process. Warr’s famous engineering is expressed through pure lines and timeless elegance in this design, whilst historic influences of performance, precision and production from iconic label Evisu, blends the styling of this bike to perfection.
Welding, engraving, bending metal; stitching, riveting denim and embossing and treating leather – Warr’s & Evisu heritage is celebrated throughout the entire motorcycle and the same technical exactness that Charlie Stockwell rules by was taken into account throughout the design and ultimately drove this bike to completion.

Every detail of this bike offers more than meets the eye. Look closely into the hand engraved engine covers and you will see Japanese inspired art. Nishikigoi Koi, scales, crashing waves and dragons are just some of what can be found on first glance of the beautifully and probably painstakingly hand engraved work of a local gunsmith in London. Look closer and you see more of the Evisu influence in symbols and characters used by the denim brand throughout their 20 year existence.

This great Bobber once again comes from our friend Charlie Stockwell. Charlie Stockwell has operated out of the King’s Road workshops of Warr’s Harley-Davidson since 1996. Having spent 15 years working, living and breathing everything Harley-Davidson you would expect someone a little older but this guy is at the tender age of 31.

When Charlie was asked by his customer, John Hardcastle, to transform his H-D Crossbones into something unique, Charlie offered him to start a project that crossed styles both from the Far East and 1970′s California.
A mix of raw materials, traditional practices and hand crafted bodywork. Glowing metal flake paintwork. As with all of Charlie and Warr’s custom Harleys he insists on using the original chassis, engine, transmission and electrics. Keeping these components on every bike make each one as reliable and ridable as the original Harley.
After stripping the bike down, the engine cases and every nut and bolt were sent away to be nickel plated (something regularly seen on Warr’s vintage and custom bikes). The transmission covers covered in glossy black powder coat. He junked the original Crossbones bodywork and opted for a 2010 Sportster tank and internal fuel pump. It needed a little modification before it would fit the Softail chassis and due to the decrease in fuel capacity he sourced a Moon Eyes 1lt fuel flask to strap to the swingarm. The fenders were hand rolled by friends of his in Japan. It may seem like a long way to go to have the fenders made but Charlie wanted to not only use some of the influence from his days of travelling around Asia but have the guys he met make something for the bike too. As with many of his bikes, Wild Hog in Italy hand made and stitched all of the leather work. Saddle, side bag and fuel flask retaining straps. Charlie re-laced the original rear wheel hub onto a 16×3.5 rim and used the original Crossbones front wheel then wrapped them in Coker Rubber. Black front tire and twin whitewall for the rear.
All of the brass components, except the gas cap, were machined at the Warr’s workshops. Grips, pegs, spacers and mounts. The handlebars are a pair of Sportster Iron bars with the paint striped back and polished.
The headlamp was mounted low down on the left hand side of forks to keep the front end clean and springs exposed. A small side mount license plate holder was fabricated to also hold the rear light.
The incredible paintwork and pin striping is courtesy of Keith Baker of Classic Cycle Works. Charlie has had Keith paint everyone of his custom Harleys to date and says he wouldn’t use anyone else! “To keep with the theme of the bike we wanted to use a deep ‘Root Beer’ and orange candy over a mix of gold and silver flake”. Quite an iconic colour form the 70′s California scene. Then the details would be in the pin striping and the use of white gold and gold leaf. The end result is quite amazing. The depth of colour and dance like movement in the metalflake is awesome!
The bike was named the Frisco Bobber and rightly so. Branded in gold leaf across the oil tank.

Best known for his award winning and trend setting vintage designs, no-one was expecting such a bike to be wheeled out of the Warr’s workshop on the King’s Road in the heart of Chelsea. He dared to break tradition and did exactly that. A breath taking cocktail of chrome and carbon fibre. Neo-vintage styling. No leather or tassels on this Harley.

Nearly everything on ‘Unorthodox’ is hand made by Stockwell himself. The original Harley-Davidson® Fatboy® was stripped down leaving just the engine and chassis. The oil tank was removed from beneath the seat and the chassis re-shaped to drop the solid one-of-a-kind carbon fibre solo saddle to an extreme slammed ride height. A new oil tank was fabricated to fit inside the original, tear-drop shaped, Fatboy fuel tank. Stockwell crafted the high-low dual exhaust system which rather cleverly houses the rear lights in the carbon mufflers. To enhance the bikes fierce stance only a pair of MotoGP spec Ohlins front forks will do. It doesn’t stop there, custom made CNC triple trees mount the forks to the frame. Brembo monobloc calipers are fitted to deal with the brute force of the new tuned 113ci Screamin’Eagle H-D Engine which has been treated with glossy black powder coat and the cooling fins Diamond Cut for a show sparkle. Carbon fibre, race style clip-on handlebars are fitted with Performance Machine controls to match the huge wheels wrapped in Metzeler rubber, 3″ open primary drive and foot controls.

RSC’s Vantage-C Powerkit including a beautiful polished canister race exhaust system, high flow 200 cell catalysts and engine software retune bring this machine to a serious contender at 445hp.
The loud yet refined bark emitted from the handbuilt V8 through the free flowing exhaust produces such a beautiful note that the car feels right at home whether it be at the Glyndebourne or at Goodwood.

The agenda was to upgrade the stance of the Aston with wheels and suspension. To achieve this, first H&R suspension was installed to get the proper ride height. For wheels, MWDesign immediately called their good friends at Modulare wheels to fabricate a custom set of wheels for the Vantage. MWDesign’s prototype included a matte black lip and a highly textured tinted brushed aluminum face reminiscent of a clearcoated version of the TiAN finish found on some of the world’s most exclusive watches. After some design revisions, MWDesign applied their concept to Modulare’s then unreleased M14 wheel style. This finish was combined with piano black hardware and aluminum center cap with small body color accents. These highly detailed wheels are glued to the road via Michelin Pilot Sport PS2’s measuring 255/35/20 in the front and 285/25/20 in the rear.

The 1969 model did not have the vent windows, had a slight grille and taillight revision, moved the ignition key from the dashboard to the steering column (which locked the steering wheel when the key was removed, a Federal requirement installed one year ahead of schedule), and the gauge faces changed from steel blue to black. In addition, the rear quarter-panel mounted side marker lamps changed from a red lens shaped like the Pontiac “V” crest to one shaped like the broad GTO badge. Front outboard headrests were made standard equipment on all GTOs built after January 1, 1969.

While his earliest memories would be of his uncle’s fixed up cars when he was very young, Lynn would forever be a builder after he was introduced to scale model car kits in the Fifties (one of his favorites was the Ala Kart kit). In the early Sixties, Lynn was a teenager in Southern California, where, in addition to cars, he was drawn to the beautiful nearby coastline. Many years and almost as many cars later, Lynn was starting yet another project with a few forlorn pieces and a picture in his head as to what he could turn those bits into.
