Good news, HOT ROD readers. You just thought you were crazy. In truth, you’re only mildly colorful. Oh sure, you’ve often reflected on how your taste in transportation trends toward the outlandish, if not the extreme. And given all those long hours you’ve spent in the garage building such machines, friends and family have mentioned (frequently) how your behavior might be described as, well, obsessive. However, when it comes to over-the-top road vehicles and the mentally questionable commitment required to construct them, you’d have a hard time matching Joe Skonecki. Just look at what he built. Compared with him, you can consider yourself almost normal. This dude is totally nuts, and we mean that in the best possible way. We come in praise of this form of insanity.

The Bugatti Renaissance design project is designer John Mark Vicente’s vision for the supercar that will replace the (al)mighty Bugatti Veyron. Since the concept has really large shoes to fill, it works hard to carry the virtues of the Veyron along. There isn’t a radical change in the looks department, and we think there won’t be one in the performance either, what it does appear to change is by way of a few cosmetic changes, and perhaps a bit of green-ness. An interesting design exercise, but I wonder if Bugatti would consider a direct successor to the Veyron. More images after the jump.

The CR&S “DUU” is a custom concept motorcycle, which was unveiled at the EICMA Milano International Bike Show in November 2009. The DUU is a naked, two-seater premium motorcycle with a modular layout. Two western motorcycle cultures have been synthesized inside the “DUU”: a sporty European rolling chassis powered by a muscular American V-twin. The DUU is said to provide an intuitive ride, with technological innovations and assertive styling.

The CR&S DUU is equipped with the new S&S “X-Wedge” engine with a capacity of 1916cc (117c.i.). Last year S&S celebrated its 50th Anniversary by creating this unique engine as a synthesis of its experience and technology. The X-Wedge is a new engine in the American tradition of big twins, which meets the latest emission and noise standards, but with a special character and high performance.

The Lamborbiker is a concept bike from designer Flavio Adriani, who was inspired by Marcello Gandini, chief designer of Bertone and freelance designer since 1980. Gandini was also designer of the Osmos wheel and the Lamborghini Countach. While some may not equate the Lamborbiker’s skeletal frame to the Lamborghini Countach, others may still appreciate the design direction of the bike in terms of its curved lines and sleek frame. The hubless wheels are also a great addition to the bike, as it gives it more of a futuristic feel. More images after the jump.
